I have two wonderful items to share with you today. One, I have another giveaway from CSN worth $40! You can purchase anything from Modern Duvet Covers, Kitchen Items and much more. So take a look. And unfortunately, this giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only. Sorry, I don't make the rules. I will announce the winner on February 16th at 10AM EST. All you need to do is leave me a comment, continue to follow me in my culinary journey's as a stay at home mommy and share my blog with others.
The second piece of information I wanted to share, before I get into these fall off the bones baby back ribs recipe, is this awesome blog I came across on the web Lighting with Lowel Ego. For those of you who enjoy photography and videography, then this piece of advice I'm about to share is a godsend. So listen up and take note...
Can you tell that the first and last photos in this post were taken around 7PM in the evening? Yes folks, I purchased the Lowell Ego Digital Imaging Light
Moving right along...
Now, I know what some of you are thinking, a dry rub? Believe me, when you try this, you'll be instantly hooked. It's the perfect balance of sweet, savory with subtle hints of spices. The hardest part of this recipe is actually going to your grocers to purchase your baby back ribs. And waiting the 2-1/2 hour roast time. Seriously. It took me less than 5 minutes to prepare the ribs. I used the Tyler Florence Brown Sugar Pork Rub
So get on it and try some. You won't be disappointed.
Ingredients
Baby Back Ribs
Tyler Florence, Brown Sugar Rub
Hungry Tummy
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 250º.
2. Liberally coat the dry rub on both sides of the ribs.
3. Roast for 2-1/2 hours.
Serve and devour. Can you tell my boys loved it! yum. yum. yum. But for the next couple of minutes (thanks to the hubs) my son would ask me to take photos of him with the rib in his cute little mouth. NOTE TO SELF: Sometimes silly games during dinner time is not such a good thing.
This is by far one of the easiest dish I've made. Hope you'll try it. Enjoy!

Add CommentLisa, this looks absolutely delicious. I love ribs and now I'm craving some! We would devour these ribs in our house too!
Lol Lisa I adore the picture of the ribs hanging out of your son's mouth (and I'm guessing your husband back there). Omgosh lol!

Lisa, love the pictures of the boys with the ribs in their mouth! I might have done the same if I had those ribs were in front of me. :-)
I started using the EGO Lowel lights, too, after reading that Jaden uses them. I now use two to help me with this winter photo sessions. It's funny, I can always tell with my photos which I used the lights for but you have done a marvelous job making these ribs look like they were shot in natural light. Bravo! Now I want the lights that are propped up w/ tripods--so much more flexibility!
I love me some dry rub! I want the Ego lights so bad. Your photos look gorgeous. I especially love the one of your husband and son! Too cute!!
the ribs look delicious -- and so easy! but i'm not sure where to find the rub... perhaps i could make a similar one!? thanks for offering the giveaway!
These look really good. I normally only go for saucy ribs but I am definitely going to have to try this!

I wish I got those, I got stand ones, but a different brand, your lighting is way better, I'm still having trouble at night. I loved the rub, I just ate mine so fast I'd didn't get a chance to post about it. Have to get some more. Love your eating the rib shots!

I don't know why I have always been too intimidated to make ribs but this takes the mystery out of it! I think I am going to go for it now!
I got that rub from the Foodbuzz Festival too...and can you believe it? I gave it away to my housemate thinking I will never use it!! Hitting myself on the head now.
Ego lights? And I'll get photos as fantastic as yours? Ooh. Must check this out. And scrape out my bank account. ;-p

OMG, these look amazing!
The ribs look awesome, and I'm not a meat on the bone kinda girl!
I'd love some actual lowel lights, but I did a DIY version instead. Better than what I was doing before, but still not what I want to be! That's why we keep on working!
Love the look of those ribs. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love baby ribs! the rub sounds amazing. I will have to try some time soon. Thanks for the tip Lisa! I'm having a problem taking food photo at night and this will fix it.
Happy Lunar New Year!
This is simple and mouth watering, just the thing I like. I want to be one of your happy kids.
Love, love baby ribs! Your rub sounds divine and something that is a must try!

Thanks guys. It so simple and delicious. My son even ate it (=
Now if you're strapped for cash, I'd take this route. Buy the light bulb only and use a lamp that would be compatible with the bulb. Also use a lamp shade that defuses the light. Try that.
Also, what I found useful is a bi-fold foam board usually found at crafts stores such as Michaels. Use that as a defuser and as your base and background for your dishes. Super simple and economical!
Play with the angle of lighting with regards to yout dish.
By the way, the Tyler's dry rub can be purchased through amazon by clicking the link within the post. Or you can make your own using these ingredients:
Brown Sugar
Salt, Dried Molasses
Spices of your choice
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
The ribs look great! Nice giveaway, too.
There are very few things that I enjoy more than ribs. Mmm... My dad recently discovered how to smoke ribs in the backyard with only our 20 year old Weber barbecue, a couple of disposable roasting pans, and some old apple branches. Yum yum! The rub you used sounds amazing!
Ribs were JUST ON SALE last week but I didn't know what I would do witht them :( bah humbug!
I smoked some baby back ribs last weekend, and the rub I made left something to be desired. Wish I'd had this rub!
Those ribs look delicious! Thanks for the giveaway!
