Asian baked crispy chicken wings

On a rainy day or just a lazy Sunday, the baked crispy chicken wings are something that everybody loves to have. These chicken wings are the most loved foods when it comes to the menu of non veg foods. Ranging from the sweet and tangy to the spicy and minty, the chicken wings comes in different flavors. I am a great fan of non vegetarian food and thus I really get excited to try out all the non veg recipes that are on my bucket list of cooking different recipes. This one, too, is one of my personal favorites. This recipe is something I learned from my favourite cooking shows. Read on to learn this recipe and give your taste buds a treat!

Ingredients required to make the Asian baked crispy chicken wings:


  • 2 lbs of chicken wings
  • Half a tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tbsp of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli garlic sauce
  • 1 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons of curry powder
  • Sufficient cooking oil spray
  • Brush melted butter
  • Half a cup of rice wine vinegar
  • Half to 3/4th cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of finely minced garlics
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 medium sized orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli garlic sauce
  • 1 to half a tablespoon of finely minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of corn starch which must be mixed with 1 tablespoon of water


Directions to make the recipe:

  1. Prepare one baking sheet by lining it up with the aluminium foil. Spray the entire thing by lightly spraying it with the cooking spray. Next step is to pre heat the oven to around 400 degrees, and place a chicken in one large sized bowl. Add some salt, black pepper, chile garlic sauce and some garlic powder to it.
  2. Next step is to place the chicken wings on the baking sheet, which must be covered with the aluminium foil. Put some butter on to it and bake it. Turn the chicken wings over and let it bake from both the sides.
  3. Meanwhile, while the chicken wings are getting baked, you can make the sauce. Over the high heat or a medium heat, add some rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, orange zest and some chilli garlic sauce in a sauce pan and let all the ingredients simmer for more than 5 minutes. Now, you can add the mixture of cornstarch to it and whisk the ingredients well. Set it aside for sometime and let the mixture cool down. Once you feel that the wings are properly boiled, you can transfer them into one large bowl and toss them with your sauce. Make sure you put on the sauce on both the sides and fry the chicken wins well. The essence of the sauce must be well absorbed by the chicken wings for giving you the best taste. At the last, you must have to sprinkle some sesame that is well toasted which will add a crispy edge to it.
